Mary Caferro proposed a bill this legislative session to increase the state’s cigarette tax by $1.50 per pack with a similar tax on other tobacco products like cigars and chew. This lifesaving tax increase would prevent nearly 7,000 Montana kids from smoking and save 1,600 lives in our state every year. As an American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteer and tobacco advocate, I urge lawmakers to support it.
