American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Calls on U.S. Senate Candidates in Maryland to Make Cancer a Priority

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) called on U.S. Senate candidates in Maryland to clearly state their commitments to fighting cancer, and one of the candidates, Congressman David Trone, sat down with cancer survivors earlier today to discuss policies that alleviate the burden of cancer, a disease that continues to kill more than 1,600 Americans every day. The effort is part of ACS CAN’s national Cancer Votes program – the country’s leading voter education program for cancer-related issues and policies.

Medicaid Expansion Pivotal to Montana’s Fight Against Cancer; Residents Should Check Their Coverage Status Following Unwinding

To mark Medicaid Awareness Month, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is shining a bright light on what Medicaid expansion means for Montana families in the fight against cancer. Residents should check their status following the completion of the unwinding, as 1 in 10 were removed from coverage, many for procedural reasons and who might still be eligible.

Access to Medicaid Expansion Key to South Dakota’s Fight Against Cancer

To mark Medicaid Awareness Month, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is shining a bright light on what Medicaid expansion means for South Dakota families in the fight against cancer and how important it is to protect access to this lifesaving coverage by encouraging South Dakotans to vote no on Amendment F in November. The work-reporting requirements proposed in Amendment F will only block hard-working South Dakotans from accessing the health care needed to live happy, healthy lives.

Una de cada cinco personas con cáncer participa en estudios de investigación médica

WASHINGTON, DC – Investigadores del Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Centro Oncológico Fred Hutchinson), la Red de Acción Contra el Cáncer de la Sociedad Americana Contra el Cáncer e instituciones similares publicaron nuevos hallazgos en el Journal of Clinical Oncology (Revista de oncología clínica) que muestran que cuando se consideran todos los tipos de estudios de investigación sobre el cáncer, al menos una de cada cinco personas tiene cáncer, o el 21.9%, participa en algún tipo de investigación clínica.
