Ban Smoking in Casinos

Closing the Loophole: Ban Smoking on Casino Gaming Floors

Casinos are again allowed to be filled with toxic second-hand smoke. Our efforts will continue to make sure that all casino workers have equal protection under the law.

Get Involved

Please help us achieve our goal of smoke free casinos so that all New Jerseyans will work in a safe and healthy environment, free of the dangers of second-hand smoke.

Your state legislators need to hear from you. Contact your legislators in support of A806 and S236.

The Latest Update

The current situation in Atlantic City is an unenforceable 75/25% split on the casino gaming floor. This continues to put casino employees at risk for cancer, heart disease, emphysema, and a host of other illnesses related to second-hand smoke.  We urge you to contact your legislators so that city council will revisit this issue and reinstate the full smoking ban.

The state assembly and senate have each introduced legislation that would close the loophole in the state’s smoke free air law by removing the casino exemption. By sending a letter requesting that your state representative sign on to Assembly Bill A1062 or Senate Bill S423, you are helping to ensure that all casino workers have equal protection under the law.
