ACS CAN took a #RoadtriptoPalco to ask Sen. Moran to #KeepUsCovered

July 13, 2017

Amid intense senate negotiations around changes to the federal health care law, Kansas Senator Jerry Moran was one of just three Republican senators who hosted public events over the July 4th recess.

The small town of Palco (population 277) became the center of the political universe for one day, bringing constituents, public health advocates, and reporters from across the country to hear what Senator Moran – and his constituents – had to say about health reform.

Hilary Gee and Jordan Rickabaugh, staff for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network in Kansas, packed a car and set out on a four hour #RoadtriptoPalco to make sure the cancer community had a chance to ask Senator Moran to #KeepUsCovered.

ACS CAN volunteers and partners from across Kansas joined the #RoadtriptoPalco virtually, following tweets and Facebook posts with information about the proposed changes along the way.
