Cancer Awareness Day at the Capitol

Friday, March 3, 2017 - 7:30am
Nevada State Legislature
401 S. Carson Street
Room 3100
Carson City, NV 89701

Nevada’s 2017 legislative session is just around the corner. The session begins on February 6th and there are a number of important cancer-related issues we will be asking our elected leaders to support.

Your voice is needed to let your lawmakers know that preventing cancer and improving the quality of life of cancer patients matters to their constituents.

Save the Date and and plan to attend ACS CAN’s Cancer Awareness Day at the Capitol in Carson City on Friday, March 3rd!

Our legislative asks for 2017 are still being drafted, but one of our top priorities will address palliative care, coordinated care for patients with serious chronic illnesses like cancer, that helps improve their quality of life and can be provided at any stage of their illness.

Join us and  cancer survivors, patients, caregivers and advocates from across the state at Nevada’s Cancer Awareness Day at the Capitol on Friday, March 3.  No experience is required. We hope you’ll consider joining us for an orientation dinner on Thursday, March 2nd, to get to know other advocates you will be lobbying with and to learn more about our key legislative issues.

Look for more information to come regarding the agenda of activities. We’ll provide a light breakfast and lunch for participants, and a limited number of travel scholarships are available.
