Remove Barriers to Biomarker Testing in Ohio

Biomarker testing is all about connecting the right patient to the right treatment at the right time.

Precision medicine, which uses information about a person's own genes or proteins, is commonly used to inform treatment for diseases like cancer. Biomarker testing is an important step to accessing precision medicine and targeted therapies, which can improve quality of life and survivorship.

However, not all communities are benefiting from the latest advances in biomarker testing and precision medicine, in part because insurance coverage for biomarker testing is not keeping pace with the latest research.

All people should have a fair and just opportunity to prevent, find, treat and survive cancer, so we're working to ensure more patients can benefit from biomarker testing —regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status or zipcode.
