It's Time to Protect Oklahoma Children from Skin Cancer

We cannot protect Oklahoma teenagers from melanoma and other skin cancers unless we prohibit minors from using indoor tanning facilities.

The evidence is clear:

  • Tanning devices have been classified as “carcinogenic to humans” by the World Health Organization.

  • People who use tanning beds before the age of 35 increase their risk of melanoma by 59 percent.

  • Melanoma is one of the most common cancers among people in their 20s.

I call on you to show your support for legislation that restricts children 18 and under from using indoor tanning devices.
