Smoke-Free Wins in November

December 1, 2011

Beyond Boise, Idaho which went smoke-free on Tuesday, there have been a number of other communities that have gone smoke-free this month.

  • Pendleton, SC – The town of Pendleton became South Carolina’s 43rd smoke-free community.   Their comprehensive ordinance goes into effect on February 1, 2012.
  • Corbin, KY – Their law covers all indoor workplaces, restaurants, and bars and will go into effect early next year.
  • Midfield, AL – The City of Midfield passed a comprehensive smoke-free ordinance, including coverage for all workplaces, restaurants, bars, hotel/motels, long-term care facilities, and private clubs. The ordinance also includes a 15 feet distance requirement.

Great job on all of these efforts!  We’re getting closer and closer to this country being 100% smoke-free.
