Smoke-Free Win in Palmer, Alaska
October 2 was an historic day for advocates of smoke-free air in Alaska. Citizens of Palmer voted 452-‐283 in support of Proposition 3: prohibiting smoking (including hookah and e-cigarettes) in places of employment and public places. The passage of this ordinance is substantial progress towards making Palmer’s workplaces healthier, and consequently, better health for employees and customers. The law will take effect on January 2, 2013. Congratulations, Palmer!
