Early Detection - Colon Cancer

ACS made tremendous progress on colorectal cancer screenings with the passage of H. 24, sponsored by Representative Maier of Middlebury.  The legislation mandates all insurance carriers offer the full range of colorectal cancer screenings and caps the out-of-pocket cost at $100.  The bill passed out of the House with 104 yeas to 35 nays, and unanimously out of the Senate; Governor Douglas signed the bill into law on May 23, 2009.  The implementation date is October 1, 2009.
