Taking part in ACS CAN's legislative campaigns on the national, state and local level is fun and easy to do. There are activities and issues that we focus on year-round, and you can help to lead our campaigns to victory. This month, we're asking you to help us tell Congress to increase funding for cancer research that could lead to improved breast cancer screenings, treatments and patient-centered care. Though we have made great progress, we must continue to fight for more funding for federal cancer research and treatment programs. The month of August presents us with a great opportunity to raise this issue with Members of Congress while they are home in their districts. This month, we will remind Congress that we are counting on them to provide the necessary resources for us to defeat cancer. Take action today! August is a great time to demonstrate what ACS CAN is fighting for in Congress. Sign our petition to encourage your elected officials to continue their work in the fight against cancer. All you need to do is sign and click to send! Then help us spread the word throughout your social networks, family and friends so they can sign as well. For help or more information, contact your Eastern Division (New York and New Jersey) Advocacy Team at eaadvocacymail@cancer.org.
