Fight Back Against Cancer this February

Cancer effects us all, but no one is truely powerless in the effort to end this disease. Now is your chance to Fight Back and let your voice be heard.

Taking part in ACS CAN's legislative campaigns on the national, state and local level is fun and easy to do. There are activities and campaigns that we focus on year-round, and you can help to lead our campaigns to victory.

Here are two activities you can do in February to keep you and your fellow advocates engaged in our campaigns.

This month, Congress will be celebrating President's Day with a congressional recess. During recess, Members of Congress will return home to listen to constituents and hear their concerns. Check your Member's website to find public meetings in your area, or schedule your own meeting in his or her district office. A face-to-face meeting is one of the most effective ways to encourage lawmakers to support our legislative priorities.

Deliver Valentine's Day cards to your elected officials. This is another opportunity to bring cancer issues to the minds of our elected officials. We can provide you with a specific legislative message for your cards if you need it, but sharing your personal story will be the most effective way to persuade lawmakers.
