Taking part in ACS CAN's legislative campaigns on the national, state and local level is fun and easy to do. There are activities and campaigns that we focus on year-round, and you can help to lead our campaigns to victory. Here are two activities you can do in January to keep you and your fellow advocates engaged in our campaigns. For help or more information, contact your local advocacy staff partner. Send a New Year's card to key state legislators in your district thanking them for their support and reminding them that you are a resource during the session on issues that affect cancer patients. Each January, the President makes his annual State of the Union address to the nation. During this address, the President's legislative priorities are laid out to Congress and the nation. You can take part by hosting a State of the Union Watch Party to see if the President mentions cancer or any of our other legislative priorities during the speech.
