The Power of the Purse Behind Research
During the month of August for the Congressional Recess, Ambassadors are urging their Members of Congress to "Put the Power of the Purse behind Research" by delivering "Power of the Purse" bags to their Members. Because Congress holds the "purse strings" to cancer research funding, we are urging Congress to protect funding for research, prevention and detection programs.
Power of the Purse petitions were collected this month at our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer kickoff breakfasts in Baltimore and Cumberland and will be delivered at our ACS CAN Lobby Day on September 28, 2010 in DC.
