Advocacy opportunities

November 26, 2013

Interested in getting involved in our cancer advocacy work? Volunteers are the real power behind our campaigns. Your stories and personal experiences let our lawmakers know how important it is to make fighting cancer a top legislative priority.

We work hard to support legislation that helps cancer patients and their families as well as legislation that helps keep people healthy through early detection and prevention. We are actively working on the following campaigns:

  • Quality of Life/palliative care (expanding access to and awareness of palliative care services for cancer patients)
  • Banning use of indoor tanning facilities for minors
  • Tobacco prevention and control (increasing funding for tobacco cessation and education programs to prevent youth from using these products)
  • Regulating electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) and prohibiting the sale of e-cigarettes to minors
