Making a difference in VT
On August 5th, Kelly Stoddard, the American Cancer Society's Director of Government Relations & Advocacy in Vermont met with Congressman Peter Welch to discuss the importance of the Health Care Reform seen through the cancer lens. Kelly was accompanied by two of the Society's key advocates, Susan Letwensky and Leora Dowling.
Congressman Welch was presented with several hundreds of hospital bracelets saying ‘The Cost Of Doing Nothing Is Too High.” The bracelets are linked in a long chain to represent united Vermonters who believe that winning the war on cancer depends on expanding access to health care that better prevents cancer and helps people beat it.
