Improve Nutrition and Physical Activity in K-12 Schools
Support efforts to improve nutrition and increase physical activity in K-12 schools
Obesity, physical inactivity, and poor nutrition are major risk factors for cancer and legislative efforts aimed at these factors offer a critical opportunity for disease prevention, particularly among children. Public policy approaches could significantly improve nutrition and physical activity in schools and reduce obesity rates by removing barriers to healthy lifestyles, changing social norms and increasing
awareness.
The Society will support these changes in public policy and work towards educating legislators and raising awareness on the subject.
Unless specifically noted otherwise, the Society, and not ACS CAN, is conducting the activities described on this page.
