Advance Legislation to Reduce Exposure to Radon

Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that forms naturally in soil and rock and can move into groundwater and the air in homes. Exposure to radon has passed second-hand smoke to become the second leading cause of lung cancer, behind cigarette smoking. The Society will support efforts to reduce exposure to radon through state-sponsored education and testing of homes, schools and businesses.
Unless specifically noted otherwise, the Society, and not ACS CAN, is conducting the activities described on this page.
